Very nice flight today at Lake Pleasant. I met up with Dustin and Tony, but Tony did not fly. He mentioned he couldn't stay. Dustin was off the ground before me I joined him about 15 minutes later. Winds were from the NE at about 1 to 4 mph, no cloud cover, and mid 80's temps. Great conditions.

We both had communications gear, but I could barely make out what Dustin transmitted. But what I did finally make out was that he could hear me loud and clear. So I did most of the talking. :)

Dustin and I headed out towards the lake. The air was really smooth, with soft bumps every so often. We flew over the West side of the lake all the way to the end. Just gorgeous! I realized my fuel was nearing the half tank mark when we were at the opposite end of the lake, so we headed back to the LZ. I stayed about 1500' agl on the way back in case I ran out of gas so I could glide as far as I could. Needless to say I didn't run out of gas. But I don't like worrying about this for each flight. I'm giving some thought to adding or replacing my gas tank with a larger tank. I was in the air 1 hour 5 minutes which seems kinda limiting in terms of gas usage.

It sure is nice to fly with Dustin. He's quite a good pilot and it is nice to have one more cool person to fly with.
