Bill and I both had some nice flights at the McCartney site. I arrive at 6am, and Bill was almost set up to fly. We fly for about 45 minutes until 7am.
Conditions were good. Quite a few high level clouds kept the sun from showing itself until at least 7am. Winds were slow variable changes from 1 to 7 mph at ground, but Bill reported 9 mph winds at 100' agl (he did this using his new, neato, hand-held GPS). The air wasn't perfectly calm, as I've experienced at this site in the past. By no means was it chppy or bumpy, but my wing was tipping from side to side and front to back enough for me to notice.
This before-work flying sure is a great way to start the day. Bill and I have agreed to schedule PPGing for Tuesday mornings. Of course, we'll post our plans here in advance so others can join us if they want.

Man, it was sooooom kinda nice flying. I'll bet Dave wishes he could have been there, especially for that first half hour when we were flying over the nude sun-bathers! No, wait, that's me dreaming again. It was terrific though, something I look forward to next Tuesday. Mo/Dave: if you want to fly Thursday morning, let me know, I'm in.

How could I have forgot the nude sun-bathers? Dave and Tony, you guys truly missed out. THAT was the highlight of this morning's flights!
David Cook responds...
I thought you said the sun didn't come out.
Maurice responds...
Yes, no sun, but those nude sun-bathers were out in droves waiting for the sun to come out. I even spotted a few nude bunnies (well, they were jack rabbits) and a bunch of frolicking chicks (well, they were baby quail). I tell ya', you really missed out!
